Yorkshire v Kent CB40 Preview

Kent have named a 12 man squad for their first CB40 game of the season against Yorkshire at Headingley on Sunday.

Set to be played in front of the Sky cameras, Kent will be looking to get their one day season off to a fine start with a win against a Tykes side they have already faced twice in the County Championship.

Jimmy Adams’ side travel to Leeds without the experience of Michael Powell and Charlie Shreck with the pair both rested, whilst Alex Blake and Sam Northeast are in contention for a place in the side alongside Sam Billings who can operate as just a batsman or as a wicketkeeper as well.

Opening batsman Scott Newman hasn’t travelled with the squad, with Adam Ball’s versatility seeing him named as one of the twelve man squad.

Skipper Rob Key has been named in the squad and is hopeful of overcoming the ankle injury that saw him miss out the Championship game with Yorkshire at Canterbury.

Should he fail to make the side, Geraint Jones will once again captain the side in his absence.

As for Yorkshire, they will be without England all-rounder Tim Bresnan who is rested, with Ajmal Shahzad having left the Tykes in the past week.

The game is scheduled to start at 1:45pm and KSN will have live updates on twitter and facebook throughout the afternoon.
