Olympic Champion Lizzy Yarnold will take an open top bus victory tour of the Sevenoaks District on Friday.

The 25 year old from West Kingsdown near Brands Hatch went to St Michael’s school in Otford and was the only Brit at this year’s Sochi Winter Olympic Games to clinch a gold medal.

Lizzy is a talented all-round athlete who only took up the Skeleton in 2011. To help Lizzy with the transition to this sport, the Sevenoaks District Sport Council, funded by Sevenoaks District Council, awarded her a £200 grant and a further £500 after she qualified for the Sochi Olympic Games.

The Victory bus tour is being organised by Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with the Sevenoaks Chronicle, West Kingsdown Parish Council, Go Coach and local schools and will give the local community to cheer her on as she passes through.

The people of Kent are set to come out in their numbers on Friday as Lizzy makes the tour that will take almost four hours.

The timings are:

Leave Sevenoaks District Council offices at 10.45am

Travel down London Road, past Sevenoaks rail station, and then left up Worships Hill, Riverhead arriving at Riverhead School at 10.55am

Leave Riverhead school at 11.05am and head towards Knole Academy via the A25, arriving at 11.10am.

Leave Knole Academy at 11.55 am heading back to Sevenoaks via Riverhead.

Drive along Sevenoaks High Street, as far as the bus station, at 12.05pm and arrive at Blighs Meadow at 12.10pm

Leave Blighs at 12.40pm, driving past the Vine, heading towards Bat and Ball.

Pass Otford Pond at 12.50pm

Arrive St Michaels School, Otford at 1pm

Depart St Michaels School, Otford at 1.35pm heading towards Eynsford via the A225.

Drive through Eynsford at 1.45pm, then after joining the A20, head towards Brands Hatch via the Farningham roundabout.

Arrive Brands Hatch at 2.10pm.

Depart Brands Hatch at 2.30pm heading towards West Kingsdown via the Hever Road Shops.

Arrive West Kingsdown Primary School at 2.30pm.
