Wright-Phillips set for talks

Chris Powell has admitted that talks about a possible new deal will be held with Bradley Wright-Phillips and his representatives at the end of the season.Bradley Wright-Phillips

Wright-Phillips is currently on loan at Brentford where he has scored once in ten appearances.

Last season’s top scorer has fallen down the pecking order at The Valley and a new deal seems unlikely.

Saturday’s win against Leeds moved the Addicks seven points clear of the danger zone with five games to go. Powell may now look at some of the club’s youngsters as well as giving the likes of Jonathan Obika, Mark Gower and Florent Rouamba – whose work permit has now come through – opportunities to show what they can do.

With nearly half the squad out of contract in the summer, the manager has a number of decisions to make.
