Wootton to miss rest of season

The Invicta Dynamos have announced that forward Haydn Wootton will miss the remainder of the 2016/17 season after suffering cruciate ligament knee damage that will require surgery.

18 year old forward Haydn Wootton is in his first season as a full time member of the Invicta Dynamos senior side and was enjoying a breakthrough year with 7 goals and 3 assist for 10 points in 22 top tier NIHL South outings.

Unfortunately his playing time in the club’s 20th anniversary season came to an end in the home tie against the Chelmsford Chieftains on 8th January as he fell awkwardly causing an injury to his knee.

On examination it has been determined that Wootton has suffered cruciate ligament damage that will require an operation and so significant time away from the ice to recover.

Speaking on the development Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “Haydn’s injury is obviously far from great news for both the player and the club but the important thing now is that he has the time to focus and recover from this setback. Haydn has a great attitude, he’s still very young and I know he will come back from this.”

“At this moment the rest of the team and staff at the Dynamos would like to join together in wishing him as full and fast a recovery as possible. We’re here to support him and we can’t wait to see him back on the ice where he belongs hopefully in the not too distant future”.

The Invicta Dynamos must now continue without Haydn Wootton on Sunday 22nd January as they take on the London Raiders in the NIHL South Division 1 at the SilverBlades, Gillingham from 5.15pm.

Doors open for the fixture at 4.30pm.
