Manager Andy Woodman “couldn’t be happier” with Bromley’s start to season.

Newly promoted Bromley FC have enjoyed a good start to the season picking up seven points from their first five games including a two-nil victory over local rivals AFC Wimbledon.

Bromley manager Woodman touched on the importance of veteran striker Michael Cheek, “I’m delighted he’s off the mark and putting the ball in the back of the net.

Cheek who netted 3 goals this season already, was key to the Ravens promotion last season. The striker has scored in all 3 games that Bromley have picked up points, showing his importance to the side’s success.

While Bromley brought in a handful of players in the transfer window, they kept the core of the team. Woodman felt “The team’s success” and ability to win games made the side “more than good enough” to compete with the established football league teams.

One new signing that has left an impression is Crystal Palace’s Danny Imray, the full back has impressed both fans and manager with his ability to not only defend but get his team forward and help to create for the forwards.

Bromley welcome highly rated Notts County to Hayes Lane this weekend in a game that is set to be a tight affair. However, Woodman believes his side are not favoured to win with “all the pressure on them (Notts County”.

The visitors currently sit 2nd in the table having not lost a game. Bromley will believe they can cause an upset, “we’ve been the underdogs many times and picked up results, I see it no different.”

The game will take place at 3pm on Saturday the 14th at Hayes Lane.
