In the closing stages of the play off qualifiers, the Kent Royals looked to remain a six-man team, as the injured Jamie Halder had to remain in a cast to aid his recovery from the thumb injury he received when away at Mildenhall at the end of July.
At the last minute an original Kent King has stepped forward in the shape of Sam Woods to bring the Royals back up to strength.
Of his signing, Sam said “I would just like to say thank you for the opportunity and it’s good to be back in Kent colours and I am really looking forward to finish the rest of the season with the Royals and having a good catch up with the riders and supporters down there”.
Promoter Si Kellow said “on paper it’s a risk bringing in Sam at this stage, but as we have proved with Joe Alcock and Connor King this season, our team ethos brings out the points”.
Kellow went on to say, “with 4 matches to go, every league point is vital to us, and the only way we can maximise our chances is to have the team at full strength”.
