AFC Wimbledon striker Jason Prior has today joined Blue Square Premier outfit Dartford on loan for a month.

Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley had been looking for a suitable club for Jason to improve his match fitness and Dartford, currently 12th in the Conference Premier, is now considered to be the right option.

Since returning from a double leg break, Jason has made four substitute appearances for Wimbledon’s first-team – the last of them at Rochdale in January – and Neal Ardley believes he will benefit from more games with the Kent club.

Speaking to Dons Player, the Wimbledon manager said: “We’ve had a good chat and we decided the best thing for Jason would be to go and get a little run of games somewhere on loan.”

“Jason is happy with that and there’s nothing sinister about that other than we’re trying to get back his sharpness and fitness. This is about Jason and we still believe he’s a very good player.”

Prior has made 7 appearances for the Wombles after joining them from Bognor Regis Town in the summer after scoring an impressive 95 goals in 126 starts.

The striker is expected to make his Darts debut when they take on Barrow at Princes Park on Tuesday night.
