The Millers travel to East Surrey for the second time in eight days on Saturday, buoyed by their Emirates FA Cup success against Aveley on Tuesday.
2 Ade Yusuff goals saw Kevin Watson’s team progress into the 4th Qualifying Round for the first time in their history, while Leafe were defeated 2-1 at home by Concord Rangers at the same stage – leading scorer Ryan Gondoh netting his 7th of the season.
While Valley fans saw a scintillating 2 goal debut from Sam Hasler in last week’s encounter, Leafe had former Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Wimbledon Academy man Antonio Walker-Barth making a homecoming following a spell at Walton Casuals.
With Yusuff back among the goals and Liam Hickey and Matt Warren now available, the visitors will be looking to go one better than in the league game when, after dominating possession and chances, it took an injury time goal to ensure a share of the spoils.
Goals have indeed been the name of the game in matches between these two sides recently – 13 goals being scored in their last 3 meetings.
While Whyteleafe are looking to reach the 3rd Round Qualifying for the first time since 1999/2000 season, the tie represents only Valley’s second FA Trophy tie in their history following last season’s Preliminary Round defeat at Maldon and Tiptree.
Should the tie be level after 90 minutes, the winners will be decided by penalty shoot out.
