Gillingham Ladies manager Jack Wheeler spoke to reporters following the 5-0 win against Swindon Town Ladies at the MEMS Priestfield stadium.
Wheeler on…The performance: “I know we can play better, from a managers point of view, we got the 5-0 win which is obviously brilliant, if you had offered me that before the game I would’ve taken it. I feel that we done well but just know we can play better”
Wheeler on…Being back at Priestfield: “The girls always look forward to playing at Priestfield, I’d like to say thank you to the club for allowing us to do it and showing us the support and backing which they have done so far this season, it’s great to be a part of”
Wheeler on…Kallie Balfour’s performance: “Kallie done really well, I don’t like to single out individuals, but she created a number of opportunities for us out of nothing, she’s a very dangerous player and a good asset for us. I’m really impressed with her willingness to work for the team, which is the most important thing.”
Wheeler on…Three points and a clean sheet: “If you had said to me that at this stage in the season we would have taken nine points in four games I would’ve bitten your hand off, with any team that goes up into a new division, you’re always the favourites to be relegated because you’re the newbies, so to get nine points on the board after four games I’m really happy”
