Jason Euell’s Under-23 side were hammered 5-1 by Queens Park Rangers at Harlington on Monday afternoon.
Euell deployed three central defenders, and played with wing-backs. The system did not suit several of his players.
Rangers led 5-0, and could have been further in front, before Jo Cummings netted a late consolation for the visitors.

Charlton host Oxford in a Checkatrade Trophy match on Tuesday evening. Karl Robinson may opt to field a stronger than usual team for the game.
Some of the youngsters who have featured in the competition started against QPR in the Under-23 match on Monday, which may indicate Robinson intends using more of his senior squad than usual.
This is the last round that will be regionalised, and the winners will progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Trying to predict the team is very difficult, but the Addicks could look something like this:
Phillips; Dijksteel, Konsa. Bauer, Dasilva; Aribo, Jackson; Lapslie, Reeves, Ahearne-Grant; Hackett-Fairchild.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Yamfam, Maloney, Holmes, Mavididi, Umerah.
The referee will be Andy Haines from Tyne & Wear.
The winners will be two games away from a Wembley appearance, which may be an incentive for the clubs to take the game more seriously than usual.
