Depleted Welling United will be looking to end their bad run which has seen them drop into the relegation zone and knocked out of the FA Cup.
They have not helped themselves with the worst red and yellow card count in the Vanarama Conference Premier.
Two more players, Chris Bush and Jake Gallagher, were sent off at Dartford on Tuesday night and both now face lengthy suspensions having already served bans this season.
Injuries have not helped Welling’s cause and Ben Jefford, who has played well in recent weeks, limped off on Tuesday night. The Wings’ management team will be hoping it is nothing serious.
The players who have not played much in recent weeks will be given an opportunity to impress as the squad is utilised to the full. Charlie Penny came in for his league debut at Dartford following a lengthy time out, yet still looked sharp. He will enjoy the opportunity to cement his place in the team.
Visitors, Macclesfield Town, are enjoying a good season and are only out of the play off zone on goal difference. Away from home, they have won twice, drawn four times, and lost three. Their successes were at AFC Telford and Dover Athletic.
In the corresponding game last season, Blaine Hudson’s 62nd minute goal separated the two teams.
Although their results have been disappointing in the last few weeks, Welling have still played some good football and are hard to beat at Park View Road so they will be looking to end their bad run with a victory against the Silkmen.
