On Tuesday, Welling United entertain Sittingbourne in the Kent Senior Cup.
Warren Feeney, the Welling manager, will be expected to play a side that includes first team players needing some minutes in their legs, fringe players and players from the new Under 23s side that might be required in the months to come.
His team had a good win in the F.A. Trophy on Saturday defeating Havant and Waterlooville three-two to inflict the first defeat on the road for the visitors this season.
Ade Azeez scored a brace for Welling but the Hawks pegged them back to two apiece. Stefan Payne scored the winner for the Wings with thirteen minutes left on the clock.
Sittingbourne are in mid-table in the Isthmian South East and drew nil-nil at Sevenoaks Town on Saturday. They have gone six games without a league win since their impressive victory at Cray Valley (PM).
Brickies manager Nick Davis is building a squad and they have an impressive front line so are very capable of causing problems in the second round tie.
Although neither club are prioritising this tournament, both managers are competitive and will want to progress.
