Welling United are in Vanarama National League South action when they host Bath City on Non-League Day on Saturday.
Recent poor form has left the Wings in a perilous place in the table with just a five point buffer between them and the relegation zone. Manager Warren Feeney has to keep swapping players around for various reasons.
Medy Elito and Taylor Maloney have missed recent games through injury and Sadik Balarabe limped off early in their last game.
Sam Cox and goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle are away on international duty with Guyana, while both Amadou Kassarate and Stefan Payne start suspensions on Saturday.
Loanee George Alexander has been recalled by Bromley so Feeney has acted by bringing in goalkeeper Fraser Barnsley on a short term cover loan from Oxford United, and Daniel Nkrumah has returned on loan from Leyton Orient.
On Tuesday, Welling hosted Taunton Town and fell to their tenth defeat of the season on home turf.
The Wings struggled to create much but they kept the visitors to long range shots until a big incident in the second half. Ade Azeez burst through and pushed it past goalkeeper Jack Bycroft only to be taken out by a body check to stop him from rolling it in.
Even the Taunton bench expected to see a red card but, incredibly, he got away with a yellow.
Eight minutes remained when the Peacocks were awarded a penalty. Although Myles Roberts saved Zac Smith’s spot kick, it came back out to him and he clipped it home.
Bath visit Park View Road just two points outside the play-off zone. They have only lost four times on the road so they will certainly give the Wings a challenge.
However, some of their best home performances have come against clubs at the upper end of the table, Oxford City, Dartford and Havant and Waterlooville.
When Welling visited Bath, on a Friday night in December, they came away with a good point.
Callum Ebanks put the hosts ahead on the hour mark but Maloney restored parity with a good hit nine minutes from time.
Last Saturday, Bath’s five game unbeaten run was ended with a three-one home defeat against St Albans City.
In the corresponding game at Welling last season, the Wings came from behind to claim a one-all draw just as they had at Twerton Park this season. Cody Cooke gave the Romans ahead but Ben Allen levelled nine minutes from time.
To commemorate Non-League Day, Welling are slashing prices at the gate and there are special deals for the ladies game on Sunday as well, full details on www.wellingunited.com
