A classy first half performance by Bromley was the key difference between the two sides as strikes from Iffy Allen and Josh Rees underpinned the visitor’s dominance.
Brett Williams, twice, and Louis Dennis both went close to opening the scoring in the first 15 minutes before Dennis’s strike in the 20th minute was parried into the path of Allen to score Bromley’s first.
Allen and Dennis combined again five minutes before half time with the latter striking the post with a fierce drive from the edge of the 18 yard box.
However Bromley were not to be denied a second goal when Josh Rees headed home from Luke Wanadio’s corner two minutes before the interval.
The second half was a more sedate affair with chances at a premium. Welling briefly threatened to get back into the game when Tom Bradbrook headed in Ben Jefford’s free kick at the far post.
Welling’s revival proved to be short lived, however, as from Bromley’s next attack Frankie Raymond restored the two goal advantage with a deflected free-kick from 25 yards.
