Welling United 0-1 Hereford United

Another disappointing home performance followed an excellent display as Welling United slumped to defeat against Hereford United.FOOTBALL (WELLING HOME)

Having already lost at Edgar Street earlier in the season, the Wings defeat will not have been well received by neighbours Dartford who now find themselves four points away from safety.

The Wings started brightly with both Tobi Sho-Silva and Toby Ajala testing goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston.

Ross Lafayette thought he had opened the scoring but Rob Purdie’s clearance was adjudged to have been off the line rather than behind it.FOOTBALL (WELLING HOME)

Dominic Collins shot wide for Hereford before Lee Butcher saved from Frankie Artus as Hereford came more into the game.

Loui Fazakerley and Lafayette had half chances before the break.

After an early second period Ajala shot was claimed by Lloyd-Weston, Hereford took control.

Twice they were thwarted by goal-line clearances before Kingsley James put them ahead from the edge of the penalty area.

Lee Clarke almost equalised after but headed Josh Wakefield’s cross narrowly wide.FOOTBALL (WELLING HOME)

Harry Beautyman shot just wide following more good work by Wakefield but Welling struggled to create another chance until the final kick of the game when Beautyman fired just wide.
