Wednesday evening sees Punjab United make their first visit to face Welling Town at Bayliss Avenue, SE28 as the only SCEFL Premier Division game of the evening.
Welling have been hit and miss in recent weeks with some big victories as well as a fantastic away point at title-cashing Chatham Town, but also with poor results against Canterbury City and Beckenham Town.
Being more consistent is perhaps now the key with 11 games to go and their place in the division for next season well and truly secure. Danny Wakeling has long set the target of 33 points as the first objective of the season, and a win or draw this evening guarantees that.
Punjab meanwhile arrive on the back of no wins in six, but can be heartened by taking Chatham Town close only losing 3-2 last weekend.
Manager Chipie Sian will expect his players to prove their worth and that they want to be retained for next season where their expectations will surely be further up the table.
The reverse fixture in late November was taken by Punjab with a 2-1 victory. The changes in personnel in both squads since then will freshen things up, but there are still plenty of familiar faces in both camps wanting to get the win to help each club end the season on a high.
Welling will continue to push for a top half spot in their debut season at this level, whilst Punjab need the points just as badly to creep away from the rejuvenated Crowborough Athletic and Erith and Belvedere, who occupy the two spots below them and are gaining ground.
Kick-off is 7.45pm at Bayliss Avenue, Thamesmead, SE28 8NJ with Adults £7, Concessions £5 and under 16s just £1 when accompanied by an adult.
