Although Welling United are pushing hard for the Blue Square Bet South championship title, they still found time to do some good work off the pitch on Good Friday prior to their victory over Chelmsford City that afternoon.
Officials, players and supporters visited the Queen Elizabeth II hospital Safari Ward bearing gifts of Easter Eggs.
Commercial Manager Paul White, who organised the visit, received a letter of thanks from a spokesperson saying “Thank you so much for the visit yesterday and well done on the match result the children on the ward were interested in the game and felt as though they had a connection with your win, fans of the future hopefully. The eggs were shared out with the children you met and those who were to poorly to join in.“
Also in attendance were Club President Eric Brackstone, Player-Manager Jamie Day and his two eldest sons. The players were represented by Luis Cumbers, Loui Fazakerley and Jon Main whist Josie Lawson and Gary Leman were the supporters present.
