Kent’s Danny Webb will start the Moto3 race from the third row tomorrow following qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas this evening.
He managed to qualify his Ambrogio Racing bike in eighth place, after some good solid laps in the qualifying session ahead of Sunday’s race.
It is the young riders best qualification session of the 2013 season to date and gives his him a fantastic chance of scoring more than the five points he scored in race one in Qatar.
Alex Rins stormed through to take pole position, improving on the third on the grid he achieved in round one of the season. Rins was already the quickest rider in practice this morning and showed that he is going to be the man to beat this weekend.
He is joined on the front row by Championship leader Luis Salom who will be in second position with Maverick Vinales in third place.
The second row will consist of Jack Miller in fourth place, Mapfre Asper’s Johan Folger in fifth, his final lap was unbelievable propelling him from a lowly 15th to the second row, and Alex Marquez in sixth.
Webb has Niklas Ajo in front of him in seventh and Alexis Masbou behind him in ninth place, with Arthur Sissis rounding out the top ten.
The Moto3 race will take place at the Circuit of the Americas tomorrow evening, where Webb will no doubt be hoping that he can challenge for the top three.
