Wealdstone v Bromley preview

After Tuesday night’s win at home to Kings Lynn Town, Bromley continue their busy National League schedule with a trip to Grosvenor Vale in Ruislip, West London to face Wealdstone on Saturday.

Bromley’s 2-0 win on Tuesday night took Neil Smith’s side up to eleventh in the table with 29 points from 19 league matches played, striker Courtney Duffus scoring twice to open his account for his new side.

Smith made several changes to his starting line up ahead of the game with Jack Holland, Billy Bingham and Liam Trotter coming into the side, while Tom Purrington made his full debut and Academy player Liam Vincent coming on as sub. Smith was delighted with his teams response, keeping a clean sheet and playing some good attacking football.

The Stones recorded an impressive 1-1 draw away at league leaders Torquay Utd on Tuesday night with Jacob Mendy scoring, the point took Wealdstone to 18th in the National League table with 22 points from 19 games and ended a run of three consecutive defeats.

Caretaker manager Stuart Maynard’s side contain two ex-Bromley players in Dennon Lewis and Moses Emmanuel who had two great seasons with The Ravens from 2014 to 2016, scoring 35 goals.

Wealdstone are in their first season back at this level since 1988, having worked their way back up the pyramid and securing their own home ground again following years of nomadic existence, winning promotion last season from National League South.

The last time the sides met at Grosvenor Vale was in August 2014, Bromley won 4-1 on that day with Moses Emmanuel scoring the fourth goal for The Ravens.

Chris Bush will be available for Bromley after suspension, but Luke Coulson and Harry Forster remain injured, although Smith was optimistic about their return being not too far away.

Weather permitting this game looks set to be a tight encounter with The Stones looking to put daylight between themselves and the bottom four, while The Ravens look to claw their way close to the play off spots.

The match is being played behind closed doors, but supporters can purchase the live stream from the official Wealdstone website for £9.99.
