Following their disappointing result on Saturday, VCD Athletic have a quick chance to get their season back on track when entertaining Romford on Tuesday night.
Going in at the break 2-1 up against Thamesmead Town on Saturday, they appeared to have weathered the storm until going down to two late goals.
They will be looking to find the spirit that saw them claim a superb 3-2 win against Gillingham in the Kent Senior Cup last weekend.
It would be dangerous to think that Romford will be a soft touch due to them being in the bottom three of the Ryman League Division One North. They have played fewer games than some of the teams in the league around them and come into the game on the back of a four one victory over bottom club Wroxham.
Chinedu McKenzie scored a hat-trick and will need to be watched closely by Joe Bruce and his fellow defenders.
However, that was Romford’s first win in seven and their away form is particularly bad with one win, two draws and seven defeats in the league.
Meanwhile, the Vickers home form is six wins two draws and four defeats.
Manager Keith McMahon knows that there are still plenty of points up for grabs and that a string of good results will put them into the mix for the play-offs.
There has been a lot of hard work done on getting the pitch fit so the ground staff will hope that their efforts are rewarded with three points.
