On Saturday, VCD Athletic entertain Hastings United at the Oakwood looking to bounce back from their defeat last Saturday.
Having been moved from the Bostik North Division to the South in the summer, the Crayford based team are becoming accustomed to trips into Kent, Surrey and Sussex rather than over the Thames.
Although they have only won once in their last eight matches, the Vickers are in a comfortable eighteenth place twenty seven points clear of Shoreham who are adrift at the foot of the table.
At the other end of the table, Hastings United have not given up hope on claiming a play-off place but they are twelve points behind sixth placed Corinthian-Casuals with fourteen games remaining.
When the two teams met back in September at the Pilot Field, the hosts were victorious. With less than thirty minutes on the board, Hastings were two up. Ansu Janneh put them up after eighteen minutes, and eight minutes later Calum Davies added a second.
Although Ellis Brown pulled one back just shy of the hour mark, the Vickers returned up the A21 empty handed.
When playing at home, VCD have claimed six of their ten victories this season and both their draws. Hastings have not had as much success on the road than they have had at home having won just four of their sixteen away games.
Davies was on target on Tuesday night when putting Hastings ahead at South Park. Although Joe Jackson equalised in the second half, the point took their unbeaten run to three games and they will post VCD a stiff challenge over the weekend.
