On Tuesday evening, VCD Athletic entertain Fisher in a Southern Counties East Football League match.
Eighteenth placed VCD have had a difficult start to their first season since back at step five since being relegated. After two victories in August, they suffered a win-less September however they have drawn their last two games.
They visited Sutton Athletic on Saturday and had to settle for a point after being ahead at half time and will be looking to get back to winning ways against Ajay Ashanike’s team
Second placed Fisher have won seven, drawn one and lost three. On Saturday, they rebounded from defeat at Holmesdale with a three-one victory over Tunbridge Wells.
Goals by Emmanuel Shoderu and Jojo Kinkonzi gave them a half time lead. That was extended five minutes after the break by Thomas Ngegba’s goal and only Trevor McCreadie’s late response blotted their copy-book.
That leaves them two points behind pre-season favourites and league leaders Faversham who have played a game fewer.
As both teams need the points, albeit for different reasons, a competitive encounter can be expected.
