Invicta eased through their first round Velocity Trophy tie against mid-table Bostik Division One South side VCD Athletic at Oakwood Stadium in Catford on Tuesday.
Playing some good passing football right from the start, the visitors took the lead four minutes before half-time when Ade Yusuff converted a good ball across the box from Jordan Wright for his eighth goal of the season.
Sub Sam Hasler, who replaced Yusuff on 70 minutes, forced a fine save out of former Ashford and Hythe keeper Joe Mant and moments laid produced a superb pass to Wright who scored his first goal of the season from close range.
Three minutes later the game was over as a contest when Scott Heard also opened his account for the season with a good finish to beat keeper Mant.
Folkestone wait to find out who their second round opposition will be – and might well look for a home draw to help offset a host of away games in the month of October.
