Kent’s Un-Limited Motorsport have announced their intentions to add a second entry in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship in 2025.
As July came to a close owner Bob Sharpless outlined his ambitions for the team that was only formed just before the start of the 2024 season.
He has outlined that they want to build a competitive car for next season, even with Daryl DeLeon scoring points on a regular basis in the 2024 Cupra Leon.
The team’s ethos since its inception earlier this year has been one of determination, growth and ambition, with an eagerness to continue increasing its presence in the championship.
Owner Sharpless, has been the driving force behind the squad’s rapid progress with a clear aim to further that development by adding a second car to its line-up next season.
The Duckhams-backed outfit and its talented young driver DeLeon have made significant strides since the start of the season, arguably showing their best pace yet at Croft last time out.
Despite his limited experience with front-wheel-drive cars, Daryl has shown remarkable promise, scoring overall points in eight races so far this season. These encouraging results have left the team reevaluating its aspirations for the remainder of the year, with consistent points and top ten finishes now on the agenda.
The team will continue to discuss its plans with Daryl for 2025 – as well as negotiating with other drivers in regard to the second seat – and will release further details of this evolving project over the coming weeks.
Speaking about their plans, Sharpless said: “This team wasn’t even thought of 12 months ago, and in January, we decided to compete at the pinnacle of British motorsport.
“We didn’t know how the results would go or how reliable the car would be. So far, the car’s been reliable. It may have been, up until Oulton Park, not quite quick enough, but we’ve shown good pace since then and we just want to keep building on that.
“For 2025, we want to have two cars out there. We would be delighted to keep Daryl and add another driver to the line-up, but we will see. That’s actively what we’re now starting to do: having conversations with drivers, partners, etc. We want to improve the car, make it faster, more driveable, and to have the budget to improve the car for next year and the remaining races of this season.
“We would love to get points everywhere. An independent win would be lovely, but points are the main achievement for now.”
