Ross Twyman is excelling in his debut season in the Dickies British Supersport series, with some impressive performances so far this season.
Just last weekend saw one of the home rounds of the season for Ross and he had a bit of a hit and miss weekend.
Speaking about making the move to the Supersport series, he said: “This year’s move to British Supersport with EHA Racing was a no brainer for me, I know Ed and the team very well. I had no doubt that it wasn’t the right place to go and so far we have made good progress.”
In most races this season so far Ross has been at the front end of the racing and that is exactly where he wants to be.
He added: “I knew that this year we could fight towards the front but I didn’t expect it to be this early on, even though we still have lots of work to do I am very happy with how we can perform this early in the season.”
This season has seen Ross have a little bit of a mixed bag of results but when he has finished he has had some very impressive results.
“Our results this year so far I am more than happy with, even though I crashed at Oulton Park we were running comfortable inside the top five, Brands Hatch we had a good race on Saturday and a good start on Sunday until I was clipped coming out of Druids causing me to fall.
“This weekend at Brands hatch we had a good race on Saturday coming from last on the grid to seventh and being fourth in the championship to then Sunday in fourth place and to be clipped by another rider which ended my race pretty quickly but I am confident that we would have been running a comfortable top five finish.
“The race on Saturday we started last for the restart because at the start I had to avoid a crash and my exhaust got bent so I had to pull in and get thankfully my team managed to get a new one on in time but we missed the pit exit, starting last made me less nervous because I had nothing to lose and everything to gain so I just got my head down and did the best I could and managed to come through to seventh.
“On Sunday it started good and looked promising but ended quickly but I still take the positives from it that we can be competitive and run close to the front, I still have lots more to learn which is a good thing because I know I can still progress forward!”
There is now a fair amount of time before Ross and his EHA team but he won’t be resting on his laurels ahead of the next round of the MCE British Superbike season.
He said: “Now have a four week gap until Knockhill, it won’t feel too long because we have a two day test at Snetterton in a few weeks, so I’ll just keep up the fitness training and concentrate on that, plus having a full time job makes the days go quicker.”
