Charlton made announcements about three players on Wednesday.
Young Dutch midfielder, Anfernee Dijksteel, penned a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2020.
Dijksteel has been called up for his country’s Under-20 squad, and was an unused substitute at Bolton on Saturday.
Reports suggested he was interesting Ajax and Everton, and the Addicks acted quickly to tie him down to a longer deal. Dijksteel said this to the club’s website:
“I’m very happy to sign a new contract and believe this is the right place to be for my future.
“I’ve seen what some of my team mates have achieved in the first team and I want to follow them and play alongside them again.
“My next goal is to make my debut and I know that will happen when the time is right. Karl Robinson is a manager who trusts young players and gives them a chance if he thinks they are ready.”
Manager, Karl Robinson, added:
“Anfernee is somebody that has got a bright future. He’s still very, very young in his development, but is someone that has really impressed me and the rest of the staff since I walked in the door.
“His game understanding is excellent and he is very good in possession of the ball, as a lot of players that come from Holland are. He’s strong, he covers the ground extremely well and we felt that it was very important to get the deal done, to keep him here and to see where we can take his career.”

The long running saga to try to find a new club for midfielder, El-Hadji Ba, has been resolved. The club confirmed on Wednesday that they had cancelled Ba’s contract.
He arrived at The Valley in the summer of 2015, and impressed during the pre-season games. He was unable to carry that form into the league season, and was quickly overtaken in the pecking order by Ahmed Kashi.
The former Sunderland man made a total of 28 appearances for Charlton.
Academy product, Oliver Muldoon, has also been released.
Fans making the long trek to Rochdale on 18 February can take advantage of free travel. The club are again laying on free coaches for fans, as they did for Saturday’s game at Bolton.
