Tunbridge Wells FC have urged Kent football fans to get behind the club as they continue their FA Vase campaign this weekend at home to Hadleigh United.
Tunbridge Wells became the last remaining Kent club in a national FA knockout competition this past weekend, and were rewarded with a home quarter final this Saturday.
Teenager Jack Harris scored a late extra-time winner against Larkhall to put them in the next round, and manager Martin Larkin has called on Kent football fans to back the team as they push for an appearance at Wembley.
“The prize of a home quarter final is what spurred the players on at the weekend; now we’re excited about rewarding the fans with another special FA Vase day at the Culverden Stadium.”
“Being at the quarter final stage now we’re conscious we’re representing the club, the town, and also the county so we welcome as much support as we can get into our ground.
“It will make a great atmosphere and the more the merrier inside the ground will certainly help us.”
Kent FA Chief Executive Paul Dolan was delighted with the club’s progress.
“We always look out for the last Kent club in FA competitions. The county have had winners of the Vase and Trophy in recent years and we wish Tunbridge Wells the best of luck for the rest of their campaign.”
Tunbridge Wells will be looking to emulate Deal Town FC, who won the FA Vase in 2000 in the last final to be played at the old Wembley stadium.
The match will be played at Culverden Stadium, Tunbridge Wells with a 3pm kick-off. Entry is £6 for adults, £3 for concessions, and £1 for under 16s. For more details visit http://www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk/ or follow @Tun_Wells_FC on Twitter.
