After last weekend’s draw home to Maidstone United, Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday when they travel up to Tranmere Rovers looking to fight their way back into the play off places.
Neil Smith fielded a team of Academy lads and players in need of game time for Tuesday night’s 4-2 defeat at Maidstone in the Kent Senior Cup Semi Final, with the one positive being a double for striker Omar Bugeil, his first two goals for the club since joining on-loan from Forest Green Rovers.
Sadly for Bromley it looks like they will still be without the injured Adam Mekki, who would have relished the chance to play against his old club and with Iffy Allen out on loan for another month options for wide players are pretty limited.
Tranmere sit in fifth place with 55 points from 32 games and have been on a good run of form since Christmas losing only once.
When the two sides met at Prenton Park last February Bromley came back from two down to draw 2-2, while at Hayes Lane in September The Ravens were defeated 1-0 by a last minute goal from Rovers.
Bromley are four points behind Tranmere with a game in hand and sit eighth just one spot below the play off places.
Given Tranmere’s illustrious past and they superb stadium this game has an extra appeal to it for The Ravens fans and they will be travelling up hoping that their team can record a first victory at Prenton Park on their third attempt having drawn and lost one previously.
With Bromley on a good run of form and scoring plenty of goals this should be a close and entertaining match between two sides looking to maintain their bids to make it to the post season fixtures.
