Local sports enthusiasts are being given the chance to have fun whilst competing with Medway Touch Multisports Club.
The club is now in it’s 4th season, initially started by a couple of friends playing in local parks and are now based at Fort Pitt Grammar School indoors from September to April and outdoors from May to July each year.
Their core three sports are touch rugby, softball and ultimate frisbee. They select sports which can be played by all ages and abilities and more importantly in mixed (male/female) format.
In May they will be running their 2nd multi-sports league. It is unique in that the same social mixed teams play each other twice over the course of the league in each of the three core sports to find the team with the ultimate sporting skills.
They are very family centered and have parents playing with and against their children and other extended family members and are also very affordable and for this year they are only charging £20.13p per person for the 10 week program which includes all equipment and a team shirt.
Last season they had 4 teams compete and this year they are targeting 6 teams.
Also despite not getting any funding they do manage to run a schools cup program giving primary school children the opportunity to play touch rugby and they can hopefully extend this to softball and ultimate frisbee in 2013.
The 2013 league will run from 13th May through to 22nd July at Fort Pitt Grammar School in Chatham every Monday evening from 7:15pm until 8:45pm and it is a community league with all ages and abilities welcome.
It is a fun and very social league and all details and updates can be found by going to www.medwaytouch.co.uk
