Tonbridge won this enthralling six pointer against fellow relegation side Chippenham which for the neutral was a great game. The game had goals and sending offs in a match that swayed from one team to the other.
Tonbridge got off to a great start scoring after 33 seconds, Jason Williams latched onto a free kick and curled home from 20 yards past Will Puddy to score his second goal in two games.
However Williams limped off after 13 minutes forcing Tonbridge to change their system with Roberto Ratti now moving up front.
Chippenham responded well to going a goal down and had a lot of possession. In the 21st minute Tom Owen-Evans, on loan from Hereford, tried his luck from 15 yards but it was blocked for a corner.
Five minutes later Tonbridge’s Harry Donovan latched onto a clearance and his first time shot was saved by Puddy.
However Chippenham got a deserved equaliser in the 32nd minute when a cross from the left into the area bounced around until it came to Owen-Evans at the near post and from 6 yards he shot home.
Owen-Evans nearly had a double five minutes later when his effort from the edge of the area went just wide.
In the fifth minute of added on time Tonbridge against the run of play took the lead, a corner into the area was eventually cleared but only to D’Sean Theobalds and his shot from 15 yards flew into the net.
The second half started like the first with Tonbridge nearly increasing their lead within five minutes of the restart when Ratti shot just past the post.
Chippenham equalised again in the 53rd minute when Owen-Evans put Karnell Chambers through and he ran from the halfway line outpacing the Tonbridge defence before going round Jonathan Henly and shooting into an empty net.
Tonbridge did not waste much time regaining the lead. On the hour mark James Folkes crossed to the back post and Turner rose and headed in.
In the 72nd minute Chippenham had a great chance to equalise again when Owen-Evans and Chambers combined leaving Owen-Evans in the area but his cross shot evaded everyone and went out for a throw.
Five minutes later Chris Zebroski tried his luck from 20 yards but Henly was equal to the effort.
The game could have changed in the 78th minute when Donovan was sent off for a reckless challenge but Tonbridge defended well and then in the 81st minute it was 10 v 10 as substitute Ryan Cross received his second yellow card.
The referee added on four minutes but Tonbridge stood firm and held on for three important points.
