On a rainy and windy day this was not a game for the purists and for both relegation threatened teams the point was not the desired result.
The game started with Hungerford having the first half chance of the game when Liam Ferdinand latched on to a loose ball and tried his luck from 20 yards but Jon Henly saved it easily.
Two minutes later Ben Greenhalgh tried his luck from 20 yards but his strike was deflected behind, however Tonbridge didnt have to wait long as they took the lead from the resultant corner.
Greenhalgh’s corner found Joe Turner at the far post who stooped down and headed in from 3 yards.
Hungerford were stunned by this but nearly equalised 10 minutes later when Ferdinand volleyed over the bar.
The weather began to dominate proceedings as both sides gave the ball away at will however Ferdinand did test Henly again, just after the half hour, but the Angels custodian was equal to the effort.
Hungerford came out the blocks quickest in the second half and Tonbridge had Henly to thank early in the half when he produced a double save from Ferdinand.
Henly could do nothing about the equaliser however, a Mike Jones corner to the near post caught the wind and flew into the net.
With conditions again dominating proceedings it became a question of which side would adapt to them best.
In the 69th minute Ferdinand saw his shot whistle past the post and five minutes later Tonbridge’s Turner saw his shot go over the bar.
With time running out Alex Bentley shot over the bar from 25 yards and in the second minute of added on time Ohman deflected Turner’s effort over.
