On a mournful day Tonbridge paid homage to one of their recent players Devonte Aransiba who passed away this week with a minute’s silence observed brilliantly from both sets of supporters. Tonbridge went on to lose their third game on the trot with a depleted team that in the end fell to the odd goal against promotion pushing Truro City.

The game started with Tonbridge getting the first half chance when in the second minute Harry Ottaway 20 yards out saw his shot go just over the bar. Then four minutes later Trevan Robinson on the right was put through and his low cross hit the bottom of the post.
In the 15th minute Truro took the lead when Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain brother of Alex saw his long throw into the area headed clear but only to Will Dean who from 20 yards shot into the bottom right-hand corner for his third goal of the season.
Five minutes later Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right saw his cross deflect and come off the cross bar for a corner Truro were now in control of the game.
In the 29th minute it could have been two when the ball played into the area found Tom Harrison but the defender side footed wide when it seemed easier to score.
The rest of the half saw Truro in charge with Tonbridge just hanging on, half time arrived, and Tonbridge would be relieved that they were only one down and that they could not play much worse.
The second half saw Tonbridge come out and have a go, in the 52nd minute Ottoway’s shot was deflected for a corner and then six minutes later they should have equalised when Sean Shields on the left weaved his way into the area beating at least three defenders and then from eight yards saw his shot easily saved by Dan Lavercombe.
In the next minute Jaze Kabia muscled his way into the area and from 10 yards saw his shot saved by Matt Rowley’s legs and cleared, another glorious chance came in the 82nd minute when Dean on the right crossed to the back post and Harrison on his own from three yards headed over the bar.
A minute later Shields 20 yards received the ball, and his first time shot went just over the bar. Tonbridge had their last half chance to equalise in the 86th minute when a bailey Akehurst free kick into the area was headed back across goal for Robinson but under pressure, he headed over the bar.
In the final minutes Truro had a lot of possession but could not increase their lead although the game was over for Tonbridge and now, they need to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.
