Laura Tillett will be tackling all forms of Motorsport as the young racing driver announces she will be competing in karting and single seaters alongside her VW Cup Campaign.
Laura who is passionate about karting will be returning to the European Championship in Sweden as well as competing in the MRF Challenge again during the closed season.
The 24-year-old has also made the difficult decision to leave Team HARD in the VW Racing Cup and move to Slide Sports for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Speaking to Kent Sports News about making the move, Laura said: “I am moving on basically, I liked Team HARD and they were a really good team and they worked really hard but the money was tight and with the results from the last race, we thought that it was probably time for a change.
“I am moving to Slide Sports, it will be good, there is obviously still a lot of preparation, I still have to do the seat fitting and all of that. It is going to be a lot of work to do, in getting to know the team and the car, it will be good to do and I am happy because I am able to do the Spa round.”
Slide Spot run VW Scirocco’s in race series and they do seem to be the cars that are consistently at the front end of the grid.
She added: “It will be a whole new car for me again, it does seem to be the Scirocco’s that are racing at the front, I am not sure whether it is because they are more slipstreamed. They do tend to be in the top six.
“I just hope and prat that the car suits me and that we have made a really good choice in changing.”
Spa Francorchamps is the next round of the season and Laura is excited to be getting back on track at one of the world’s most iconic race tracks.
“It is a legendary circuit and I am excited to get out there and drive it and to see how the car feels actually, whilst driving that track.”
Alongside the VW Cup Laura will be returning to karting and it is something that Laura is madly passionate about and she can’t get back to competing again.
She said: “I am getting back out in the kart, I have got a drive perhaps to do the European Championships in Sweden. That is going to be good and I do miss kart racing quite a lot, so it is nice to come back and be chucked in the deep end and do a proper big race. I am really excited for it.
“Ever since the beginning of the year watching my brother, I have been desperate to get back out and do it and to prove to everyone that I can do it still. When I had a go at the weekend, I did a demo race and I was a bit worried because I thought what if I am not as good as I was.
“I went out and I was quick so there are no worries there, I am still as good as I was when I left the sport. Kart racing is fun and there is nothing like it.”
Laura will also be taking part in the MRF Challenge over the closed season, and it is one of Laura’s favourite series to race in.
She added: “I really want to do that again, I love that championship so much. It is a really good championship and I can’t wait to race the tracks. I think they are releasing the track list as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain and Chennai.
“I think they could almost all be my favourite circuits, it is going to be really good and I am really excited.”
With the tin top series, karting and single seaters, Laura will be very much competing in all forms of motorsport over the next few months.
“I know I am trying to get my name known in all forms of motorsport in all different areas, this year I can say that I have done a bit of everything and covered all bases.
“I think this is going to be my deciding year really, which is depending on what I am going to be doing next year. Having been in a saloon, a single seater and a kart, I can decide what route I want to go down for my future.”
