Laura Tillett will be returning to the track for a full season in the Volkswagen Racing Cup for 2015 with Team Hard Racing.
It is a new move for Laura as she competes in her first full season in a tough and competitive tin top racing series having previously raced predominantly in single seaters.
The 23-year-old from Sittingbourne will be joining the impressive stable of drivers already signed up to race for Fawkham based Team Hard run by Tony Gilham.
Speaking about the opportunity, Laura said: “I am really excited to be back racing for a full season and I am delighted that Team Hard have provided me with this opportunity. I have not raced a full season since 2012 and I am keen to show that I can challenge at the front end of a championship once again.”
Laura who has competed in Karts in both Europe and the UK, was the first British female to qualify and compete in the FIA World Karting Championships. The experience that Laura has gained will help her immensely.
Giving his thoughts on having Laura lining up with Team Hard a delighted Tony said: “Team HARD are very excited to be working with Laura in 2015 and for her introduction in to saloon car racing. The VW Cup is the perfect launch platform for what we believe to be the start of a very promising tin top career.
“With the build of a brand new car for this season we believe that Laura will have the tools to go with her natural ability to compete at the sharp end of the grid. It is great for us to have such an amazing female talent involved and showcase what we can achieve together.
Laura is excited to get behind the wheel and race in the car that is currently in build, something that Laura has not had before in her career.
She added: “I am looking forward to having a new car that has been built specifically for me, and that is customised in my very own livery with my own sponsors. 2015 is going to be a massive year for me and I am so excited to get out on track and race.”
