Tickets for the opening league fixture, against Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium, went on restricted sale on Tuesday morning from The Valley Commercial Centre.
There was brisk trade with a 15-20 wait time on the phones at 10.00am.
Tickets also went on sale for the home matches with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Oxford United and Middlesbrough.
Bournemouth tickets were in great demand and it seems certain that Charlton will sell their entire allocation of 1,447 places for the game.
Sky Sports reported that the Addicks have withdrawn their latest improved contract offer to Cedric Evina and the player did not travel to Spain with the squad. Charlton will play two games whilst in Spain, against a Gibralter XI on Wednesday and St Mirren on Saturday.
Evina’s agent said, “We’re looking for another club, we’re left in no-man’s land.”
It will be a difficult summer for out-of-contract players. With clubs gearing up for Financial Fair Play regultions, youth team players are likely to be fast tracked to first team status, making it harder for unattached players to find clubs for the forthcoming campaign.
Charlton have taken a tough stance with Evina but other clubs will act similarly. Players will be taking a risk if they stall on contract offers for too long.
