In the lead up to Christmas, KSN’s football editor Mike Green has been talking to some of the county’s bosses armed with a series of Festive Season based questions.
And so, on ”the third KSN day of Christmas”, it’s the manager who’s back after a whole season out and the boss of currently the county’s form team – Greenie’s been talking to Thamesmead Town’s Tommy Warrilow…
KSN – What’s you earliest Christmas football memory?
TOMMY WARRILOW – no real memories as in those days all the games were local derbies and have merged into each other.
KSN – What’s your best Christmas football memory?
TW – all the good games that are played at Christmas.
KSN – And what’s your worst?
TW – haven’t had one – yet!
KSN- What’s the best or worst football based present you’ve ever been given or received?
TW – bah humbug! never bought one or ever received one.
KSN- What d’you think of Christmas football?
TW – nothing at all – absolutely love it!
KSN – If you were preparing a “Mid-term” School report on your side’s season so far, what grade would you give the side and why?
TW – at the moment it’s a C+ as we haven’t got the results that our performances have deserved!
KSN – Who’s your team’s Player of 2016?
TW – there’s probably three that I can’t split – Bode Anidugbe, Jay Porter and Paul Vines.
KSN – Is there a player who’s really excited you this season?
TW – Aaron Rhule when he’s running with the ball!
KSN – What do you hope your players have for Christmas dinner?
TW – Salad! They’re very good with their diets and I’m told that they were looking at salmon with lots of water with it!!! Now do I believe them, that’s the question? That said, I’m having Turkey with ALL the trimmings!!!
KSN – What’s your hope for football in general in 2017?
TW – I really hope that more English players develop properly rather than becoming boring players and they come through with quality as I think the national team at the moment is so boring with no flair, which if I’m honest doesn’t look as if it’s been encouraged! And can we also get a few more characters in the game please…
KSN – If you could ask your Chairman to sign you one player as a Christmas gift, who would it have been and why?
TW – Gareth Bale as let’s face it he is one of the best players in the world at the moment, though what he’d think of Tilbury and Aveley away I’m not sure!
KSN – Finally your Festive message for the Thamesmead fans?
TW – I want us to break into the Play Offs and whilst it’s been frustrating for everyone so far this season with your brilliant backing and help, I honestly think that it is definitely on!
Many thanks to Tommy for joining in our series and a very Merry Christmas to him and everyone at Thamesmead Town – join us again tomorrow to see who is the featured boss on the ”fourth KSN day of Christmas!”
