In the lead up to Christmas, KSN’s football editor Mike Green has been talking to some of the county’s bosses armed with a series of Festive Season based questions.
And so, on ”the final KSN day of Christmas”, it’s a “League One boss a leaping” – Greenie’s been talking to Gills boss Justin Edinburgh…
KSN – What’s you earliest Christmas memory?
JUSTIN EDINBURGH – receiving a pair of “Patrick” football boots just like Kevin Keegan used to wear!
KSN – What’s your best Christmas football memory?
JE – I used to nearly always be suspended over Christmas!
KSN – And what’s your worst?
JE – I can’t remember when or where it was, but we were away on Boxing Day and had to travel to the hotel on Christmas Day. When we woke up the following morning, the game had been frozen off – you can imagine that the players, let us say, weren’t very happy when we were told!
KSN – What’s the best or worst football based present you’ve ever been given or received?
JE – this year I bought my nephew a pair of Arsenal pyjamas!
KSN – Would you change anything about Christmas football?
JE – nothing whatsoever!
KSN – If you were preparing a “Mid-term” School report on Gillingham’s season so far, what grade would you give the side and why?
JE – C plus – far too inconsistent!
KSN – Who’s your team’s Player of 2016?
JE – Bradley Dack
KSN – Is there a player you’ve seen either live or on TV who’s really excited you in 2016?
JE – Darren Oldaker
KSN – What do you hope your players have for Christmas dinner?
JE – Full Christmas dinner!
KSN – What’s your hope for football in general in 2017?
JE – Players behave on social media!
KSN – if your Chairman could buy you one player as a Christmas present who would it be and why?
JE – Alexis Sanchez – because I wouldn’t dare take Harry Kane away from Spurs!
KSN – Finally your Festive message for the Gills fans?
JE – Keep up your fantastic support that you’ve given us this year and have a Happy Christmas!
Many thanks to Justin for rounding off the series and on behave of everyone at KSN have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and peaceful 2017…
