Gravesend’s Team Hard will be running Warren Scott in a New Generation Touring Car specification VW Passat, after agreeing a partnership with Team BMR Restart for the remainder of the season.Warren Scott (GBR) Team BMR Restart SEAT Leon

It is in fact Scott’s maiden season in the British Touring Car Championship and up until now he has been racing a Seat Leon, in the Jack Sears Trophy. There was always plans for Warren to race in an NGTC car before the end of the season, but after issues with the Leon they have accelerated those plans, ahead of a full season in 2014.

Scott is a familiar name to motorsport fans across the country as he competed in the British Superbikes, now he will drive in the second VW Passat CC built and prepared by Tony Gilham’s team. The car has been a hit so far this season with Tom Onslow-Cole having secured three podium finishes in the sister car.

The car will be run by Team BMR Restart on race weekends with full support and assistance being provided by Team Hard.

Scott will get behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Insignia for a two day official test at Snetterton this week before he then races at the same circuit for the next three rounds of the season in August.Warren Scott (GBR) Team BMR Restart SEAT Leon

Speaking about being given the opportunity to work with Team Hard and drive a NGTC car for the rest of the weekend, Scott said: “We are really keen to work with Team HARD. Tony and his team are a great bunch of guys, we love their philosophy of enjoying the racing alongside being a highly professional, motivated team.

“In the first half of the season running a newly built and undeveloped NGTC car they have achieved some amazing results. The car has shown great pace off the mark and has unlimited potential, with further development under Tom Onslow-Cole, to be a consistent top running car in the championship.

“I realise that we still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I am positive that in working alongside Team HARD and driving the VW Passat CC NGTC, not only will we become competitive in the championship, but we will also have great fun achieving it.”

Tony Gilham was also delighted to have formed a partnership with Scott and Team BMR Restart, he said: “Warren has shown some real potential in the SEAT Leon this year so it will be very interesting to see how the transition to a full NGTC car pans out. Warren will get his first outing in NGTC machinery when he gets behind the wheel of one of our Vauxhall Insignia’s at the Dunlop test at Snetterton next week.”
