Brands Hatch’s Motorsport Events Manager David Willey has become one of the latest stars of ITV Saturday night hit-show ‘Take Me Out’ after making appearances over the past fortnight.George Ross and David Willey

David, from Tunbridge Wells, has worked at Brands Hatch since November 2006 and impressed the line up of 30 stunning girls on Saturday 9 February by showing off his driving skills at the wheel of an M3 Master BMW at the Kent circuit, as part of a pre-recorded video played in the studio.

After three successful rounds, including input from his father and chat with host Paddy McGuinness, he eventually secured a date on the ‘Isle of Fernandos’ with motorsport fan George Ross from Portsmouth, whose parents are both rally drivers. David proved so popular that his name trended worldwide on social networking website Twitter!David Willey on Take Me Out

While the date (broadcast on 16 February), which involved a quad biking challenge, ultimately revealed that the two were destined to be just good friends, David nonetheless decided to give her the Valentine’s Day of a lifetime with a high speed driving experience at Brands Hatch. Fortunately, there was no repetition of the moment in ‘Fernandos’ where George drove her quad bike into a cactus!

Behind the wheel of the BMW M3, George lapped at speeds of over 100mph at Brands Hatch and experienced some of the most famous corners in motorsport.

“That was the best drive of my life!” she enthused. “I loved it, it was brilliant, and the BMW M3 is so cool! There were a couple of scary moments as I managed to slide it on a couple of corners but apart from that it was all good! It’s the fastest I’ve ever driven and it was an amazing experience. Thanks to Brands Hatch and to David for making it happen!”M3 Master

David said; “I’ve become good friends with George since Take Me Out and felt it was only appropriate to give her a nice treat at Brands Hatch! I was very impressed with her driving, she was blasting by on the straights, and she may have a future career as a race driver yet!”
