Charlton slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Swindon on Saturday afternoon.

It was a shocking performance, and Russell Slade labelled it as his team’s worst performance of the season.
Slade had to make three enforced changes due to international call ups and Ricky Holmes’ foot injury.
Slade went for a midfield diamond, with Andrew Crofts at the base, Kevin Foley and Frederik Ulvestad as the central duo, and Johnnie Jackson further forward.
Swindon used five midfielders, two holding and three further forward, with Luke Norris as the sole front man.
The shape gave Michael Doughty a platform to run the game for the Robins.
Slade brought Brandon Hanlan on at the start of the second half to replace Kevin Foley, and changed to a traditional shape in midfield.

Though the Addicks had their moments, and should have had a second half penalty when Hanlan was hauled down, they were second best on the day.

Swindon took the lead in bazarre circumstances three minutes before the break.
Sean Murray shanked a shot that was going wide before it took a wicked deflection off Morgan Fox’s heel.
Declan Rudd was wrong-footed and could only watch in horror as the ball trickled over the line.
Charlton needed to get back in the game early in the second half, but instead the Robins doubled their lead.
Doughty flicked on a right wing corner, that fell invitingly for Lloyd Jones standing beyond the fast post. Jones lashed the ball home.
Swindon sealed the game four minutes from time. Johnny Goddard was sent clear on the left, cut in and beat Rudd with aplomb.
A really disappointing afternoon for the Addicks, and Slade apologised to the fans at his post match press conference:
“I apologise to our fans today because we were really poor. We need a reaction from that.

“Our form had been really good prior to today and I’m not sure where that has come from today. It’s disappointing.

“We have a few bodies to come back after today, which is encouraging, but we have to be much better than that.”
