Kent’s Bradley Ray had another strong weekend in the latest round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill.
Ray took victory in race one of the weekend from Jason O’Halloran and Rory Skinner by what was quite a margin for the short circuit from pole position.
The second race of the weekend saw Ray come home in fourth place, as after a safety car he couldn’t do anything about O’Halloran, Skinner and Lee Jackson.
The final race of the weekend saw Ray starting from the front row and once Skinner slid out of the lead, Ray was ahead but will rival O’Halloran following close behind. He made his move in the closing stages and Ray had to settle for a solid second place finish.
Speaking after the weekend, Ray said: “It’s been a rollercoaster weekend starting in Free Practice, but we turned it around. I was unlucky to miss the podium in race two after the Safety Car went in, it took me by surprise as we just didn’t have the pace after that.
“We made a few changes to the RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha R1 for the third race and were able to hold the pace a little bit longer but just not enough to match Jason at the end.
“Overall, I’m happy to come away with two out of three podiums and feeling really good on the Yamaha R1.”
