The Scottish press are reporting that Hearts striker, Conor Washington, is close to signing a two-year deal with Charlton. The deal could even be concluded later today.
Chatham born Washington is a Northern Ireland international, who came through the Newport County academy.
He moved to Peterborough in January 2014 and scored 27 league goals for Posh in 64 starts plus 18 substitute appearances.
His form at London Road led to a £2,500,00 move to QPR in January 2016. He spent two-and-a-half years at Loftus Road, scoring 13 goals from 58 starts plus 24 sub appearances.
He was part of Sheffield United’s 2018/19 promotion squad, but failed to score in his 3 starts plus 12 sub appearances.
He moved to Hearts last summer but has had an injury ravaged campaign at Tynecastle, scoring just 3 goals in his 15 appearances, 8 of them as a sub.
Washington will be keen to impress with the European Championship coming up next summer.
If he can find his best form and maintain fitness, he would be a useful addition to Lee Bowyer’s front line.
