Charlton have had a bid accepted by FC Kobenhavn for striker, Igor Vetokele.
The 22-year-old Luandan born front man will jet in later this week for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
Vetokele is keen to play in England and had this too say about his proposed move:
“I’ve always wanted to try playing in England and I believe I have good opportunities to play and continue my development in Charlton.
“Therefore, this is a good opportunity for me, even though it is not an easy decision.”
Vetokele scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for Kobenhavn in the Danish Superliga and also played against Real Madrid and Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Vetokele grew up in Belgium and represented his adopted country at junior levels but opted to play for the country of his birth at senior level. Thus far, he has won two caps for Angola.
Before moving to Denmark, Vetokele played for Gent and Cercle Brugge in Belgium. He played under Charlton’s new head coach, Bob Peeters, at Brugge and as he speaks perfect English, he should have no problems settling in if his move to The Valley goes ahead.
It is believed Vetokele will cost a seven figure fee.
