Benfica’s Guinea-Bissau born striker, Amido Batis-Cande, is trialing with the Addicks.
Batis-Cande came on as a late substitute for Ollie Muldoon in the Under-21 friendly at Watford on Tuesday.
Batis-Cande may be given a start against AFC Wimbledon next week. The Dons visit Sparrows Lane for a friendly on Wednesday and the game provides the ideal opportunity for the club to take a look at the player.
Chris Powell indicated that he was expecting both arrivals and departures, player wise, before the loan window closure next Thursday.
The news of a possible takeover may have been the reason for Powell’s optimism and it is possible, that the Addicks may be looking to recruit higher calibre players now.
Among those thought to be interesting Charlton are Manchester United’s England Under-21 central defender, Michael Keane, Swansea’s Alan Tate and free agent, Fitz Hall.
Keane had a successful loan spell at Leicester last season and played against Charlton when the Addicks won 2-1 at the King Power Stadium in February.
Tate is a vastly experienced defender and is a product of Manchester United’s academy. The 31-year-old has been at Swansea for over ten years but has been a peripheral figure of recent times.
Tate had a loan spell at Leeds last season and would relish the opportunity of first team football.
Much travelled Hall is now 33-years-old and played against Charlton in the game at Watford on Tuesday. The East Londoner would bring a wealth of experience with him.
Though Richard Wood is expected to return in the near future, Dorian Dervite and Michael Morrison are the only other experienced central defenders at the club.
