Streatham 7-0 Invicta Dynamos

It was another defeat on the road for the Invicta Dynamos, this time up the road at Streatham.

Invicta coach Kevin Parrish had to name a side without both of his imports with Ondrej Zosiak and Edmund Piacka both missing along with the suspended Harrison Lillis. Returning for the Mos were Arran Strawson, Andy Munroe and overnight signing Ryan Giles.

Starting in the net for the Mos was Conor Morris and he was called into action within the first minute saving from James Warman, whilst at the other end ex-Dynamos netminder Damien King saved from Anthony Leone. The Mos had a great chance in the 5th minute when King had to deny Martins Susters – but in the build-up Susters was tripped by Adam Wood which put the Mos on their first powerplay of the evening. Shots by Ryan Giles and Martins Susters failed to produce a powerplay goal with the hosts soon returning to full strength. It wasn’t much longer before Joe Allen became the first Dynamo in the penalty box for tripping – and Streatham took full advantage by going ahead 1-0 on 9:51 through Ryan Webb who was assisted by Leigh Jamieson and Alex Roberts.

Another shot by Susters in the 10th minute sailed over the bar before the Mos had to defend another penalty on 12:51 – Andy Munro with a tripping offence. This time the Mos killed the penalty but within 5 seconds of returning to full strength they conceded for 2-0 on 14:56 – Ryan Webb with his second of the night, assisted by Michael Farn.

The home side then inflicted more pain on the Mos by going 3-0 up on 17:47 with Tom Beesley thundering past Morris and assists claimed by Josh Condren and Michael Farn. A couple of chances fell to Brandon Miles and Martins Susters near the end of the period but neither player could convert past King with the period ending 3-0.

The second period started with Morris saving early into the period from Jacob Ranson who picked-up a bobbling puck before racing through on the netminder. Callum Best and Louis Colvin then switched play to the opposite end of the ice where Anthony Leone fired straight at Damien King. Things got a lot worse for Invicta on 23:52 when Conor Morris injured himself saving from Scott Bailey, after lengthy treatment Morris was helped off the ice and played no further part of the game. Replacement Adam Long was soon called into action with a save to deny Alex Roberts.

Brandon Miles could have counted himself unlucky not to score in the latter stages of the period when King denied him at full stretch only for Joe Allen to also miss-out on the follow-up. Streatham wrapped-up the period with their 4th goal of the night on 36:21 – Andreas Siagris converting past Long assisted by Thomas Beesley.

The final period fared no better for the Mos. An Anthony Leone shot at Damien King got the period underway but the away side were soon on the penalty kill with Ryan Giles guilty of hooking on 45:09. It didn’t take long for the numerical advantage to work in favour of Streatham when they increased the scoreline to 5-0 on 45:45 – Ryan Webb notching his hat-trick. With the game seemingly out of reach for the Dynamos to claw anything back Streatham changed netminder’s with Nathan Gregory getting a runout for the final 14 minutes of the game. Owen Dell and Martins Susters had no luck with the new netminder with Gregory keeping their shots at bay. On 51:03 the scoreline increased to 6-0 with Adam Carr slamming the puck past Long, assisted by Alex Roberts and James Warman. The final goal followed in the 57th minute through Tom Soar with ex-Dynamo Josh Condren claiming his 2nd assist of the evening. There was time for Callum Best to shave the paint work off the Streatham crossbar but the game ended with the Mos being shutout for the third game running.
