The Invicta Dynamos have announced the return of 28 year old blue liner Arran Strawson.

The defenceman has put pen to paper extending his stay in Kent to a fourth consecutive season.

Strawson was originally set to appear for the EPL’s Hull Pirates in 2015/16 but the Dynamos have moved quickly to secure his services for another campaign after the skater’s switch north was cancelled.

The blue liner’s re-signing will now see him spend a fourth term in Gillingham with the Mos where he has already made 158 appearances and managed 26 goals and 100 assists in the process.

Strawson first iced for the Dynamos in 2012/13 after arriving from the Wightlink Raiders and he quickly made an impression with 34 points and Head Coach Kevin Parrish’s ‘Coach’s Player of the Year’ award come the end of the campaign.

He would fair even better the following season – finding twine 9 times whilst playing a role in 39 more for a formidable return of 48 points in 50 outings.

Meanwhile last season he remained at the core of the team’s rear guard by dressing 57 times and notching another 7 goals and 37 assists to help the club claim their first silverware in five years.

Strawson lifted the NIHL Southern Cup in a campaign that will also be remembered for two incredible long range strikes – from the halfway line against the Streatham Redskins at home and from his own goal line against the same opponents on the road.

Speaking on the return of Arran Strawson, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “I’m very happy to have Arran back in the changing room after it initially looked like he wouldn’t be with us for 2015/16.”

“Arran has fought hard for this club over the last three years and consistently been a key player for us so it’s great to be able to count on his experience again in the new season.”

“He plays physical hockey, has a dangerous shot from deep as he showed a number of times last term and he’s a good character to have around our predominantly young side.”

“It’s with that in mind that he will be wearing the ‘A’ of alternate captain throughout 2015/16 and I know he will wear it proudly”.

Arran Strawson will line up for the Mos as they begin their campaign this Sunday on home ice against the Bracknell Hornets in the NIHL South Division 1.

Faceoff at the Silver Blades Gillingham is at 5.15pm with doors opening at 4.30pm.
