Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens has been named as the second Most Valuable Player across all forms of cricket for the 2012 season.

The 36 year old former Leicestershire man was named by the Professional Cricketers Association as being second only to Somerset’s Peter Trego, who also used to play for Kent.

Stevens finshed with a combined total of 441 points across the three forms of the game, with Trego 60 points ahead in first place after an excellent season.

The Kent all-rounder was named as being the eighth Most Valuable Player in T20, 3rd in CB40 and 36th in the County Championship, giving him the second spot overall.

Meanwhile, it was a good season for some of Kent’s other players with six players named in the top one hundred in T20, six in CB40 and seven across the top one hundred in the County Championship for the 2012 season.
