A five goal Kent Senior Trophy Quarter-Final ended with Erith Town progressing at Stansfeld.
It was the third meeting between the two clubs this season and all three have ended in wins for the Dockers.
After coming out the quicker, the hosts went ahead in the sixth minute. Greg Summersby crossed low and Max Conner controlled it, turned and fired into the bottom corner.
Ross Morley shot wide for Stansfeld, but Erith grew into the game and were on top when they levelled midway through the half. Joe Chalker sent it into the penalty area, Harry Taylor flicked it on, and Adem Ramadan finished at the far post.
Dan Parkinson was off target with a free kick for the hosts and they went behind shortly after.
James Miles sent in a near post corner that Roman Hall couldn’t hold and it dribbled over the line.
Four minutes later, the scores were levelled again. Tom Ash lost his balance and handled in the area as he fell, conceding a penalty. Dan Parkinson stepped up and slotted home.
Ramadan shot over after a corner was cleared and Charlie Clover cut in and shot straight at Hall.
However, the hosts had the last effort of the half when Rob Hughes got in behind but Mackenzie Foley was out sharply to give him no space with his header.
Immediately after the break, Taylor was brought down in the penalty area and Jason Goodchild put Erith back in front from the spot.
Billy Parkinson showed his dislike of a challenge by Taylor on Hall and earned himself a ten minute spell in the sinbin allowing Erith some freedom up front. Clover had a free kick saved by Hall, then Goodchild cut out a poor pass out from the back and sent Taylor away but Hall stood firm and made the save. Taylor then headed over from a Ramadan corner.
When the numbers were evened up again, Dan Parkinson sent a free kick over and then got on the end of a half cleared corner but arrowed his shot straight at Foley.
As the game moved into the last ten minutes, both goalkeepers were called into action. Ollie Milton crossed for Stansfeld and Hughes shot but Foley made a fine save. Then, at the other end, Taylor unleashed a fierce drive which drew an excellent save out of Hall.
Ramadan headed over after a corner was knocked down before Stansfeld went close again. Ryan Fowler shot towards the top corner but Foley made a stunning save.
Hopes of taking the game into extra time were made less likely when they were reduced to ten men again with four minutes remaining when Dan Parkinson talked himself into the sinbin.
Erith saw off the remaining minutes with little concern to put their name in the hat for the semi-final.
