Another late change to the schedule saw Charlton revert back to the original plan of playing a full ninety minute match against Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lepe on Thursday evening.
The kick-off time of 20.30 (local time)was delayed by around 35 minutes and, as expected, Chris Powell fielded a completely different team after the break.
As at Welling, the Addicks were much improved after the break and notched a stoppage time winner when Johnnie Jackson’s diving header from Danny Green’s free-kick found the back of the net.
The Addicks had previously had two goals disallowed through contentious offside decisions. Powell again used an experimental 4-3-3 formation with young Michael Smith impressing.
The Addicks fly home on Monday evening before facing Barnet at Undethill on Thursday.
