Spooky visitors to come to Brands

Brands Hatch will play host to some spooky visitors this weekend as the final round of the 2011 Delphi British Truck Championship is staged.

Two scary-looking trucks provided a taste last week of what’s to come as they tore round the track at frightening speed!

The annual October Truck Racing event has always been one of the most popular on the calendar, and attracts a huge family audience who come to watch the 1,000bhp machines competing wheel to wheel at 100 miles per hour. Three thundering truck races and a number of support races, including Pick-Up Trucks, will take place on the Sunday.

Whilst the action on circuit will be thrilling, the activities away from the track will be chilling, as the Brands Hatch venue will be transformed into the spookiest of settings to celebrate Halloween weekend. The scary fun on offer will include a haunted ghost train, pumpkin carving, a creepy birds of prey display, free face painting, a haunted house and a broomstick race.

Kids and their parents can also seek out friendly spooks in a Ghost Hunt to win prizes! All children under 13 will be admitted free of charge if they’re accompanied by an adult, and they will be entered into a trick or treat lucky dip if they arrive in costume.

Hoping to tame one of the ‘monster’ trucks is West Kingsdown’s Steven Powell, the recently crowned Class B champion. Steven’s brother Graham also races and stepped up to the premier Class A this season. “It’s always good to race at our local circuit”, said Graham. “I won the Class B championship before and Steve has carried it on – he’s very happy to secure the title. We’re hoping to keep it in the family for some time.”

Adult tickets for Halloween Truck Racing at Brands Hatch on Sunday 30 October are available in advance for £17 online, with free entry for children aged under 13. For more information, call 0843 453 9000 or visit www.brandshatch.co.uk
